Definition of Instructional Design

According to Piskurich, instructional design is best described as a set of procedures for creating training that achieves its intended goals. These procedures involve determining what the training is supposed to accomplish, communicating those goals to participants, ensuring all aspects of the training focus on those goals, and monitoring whether the goals have been achieved. In essence, instructional design systematically plans a training program from the initial idea through to final revisions (Piskurich, 2021, pp. 3–4).
