We sketched out an entire course designed to teach MoodleCloud users how to modify the Boost Preset that controls the styling of their LMS. We broke down the constituent competencies learners need to understand in order to ultimately create a Boost Preset. One of these competencies is working with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This is the module we would like to get feedback on. You'll be able to see the other modules, but you'll only be able to interact with the CSS module.
Using the ADDIE model, we started in the Analysis phase with a broad intention of creating a complete Moodle course. Through consultation with our SME, Jeff, we realized this goal was too ambitious and refined it to focus on setting up a Boost Preset for a Moodle theme.
During Design and Development, we determined there was just enough time to cover one module. We decided instructional designers could benefit from learning to code in CSS. In developing the CSS module, we included clear learning objectives, a vocabulary pre-test and post-test, background learning of CSS, and scaffolded coding practice. Activities include identifying errors and completing code snippets.
This is a picture of our CSS module.
